About the Role
Tarrar Utility Consultants is looking for a sharp, organized Project Manager to lead dry utility design projects from start to finish. In this role, you’ll oversee coordination between clients, utility companies, and internal teams to ensure projects move forward smoothly, meet deadlines, and stay within scope. You’ll manage multiple projects at once, handle day-to-day problem solving, and be a key point of contact for both clients and agencies.
We’re looking for someone who can balance technical understanding with strong communication and leadership skills—someone who’s comfortable taking ownership and driving results.
Responsibilities:
Manage dry utility projects through design, permitting, and construction support
Coordinate directly with clients, agencies, and utility providers
Prepare project schedules, track milestones, and oversee deadlines
Review and manage design submittals, applications, and utility plans
Lead project meetings internally and externally
Handle project documentation, reporting, and regular client updates
Identify potential project risks and implement solutions early
Work with internal drafters, designers, and assistants to keep projects moving
Ensure all work follows Tarrar’s standards and client requirements
Requirements
10+ years of project management experience (utility design, civil engineering, or related field preferred)
Strong understanding of utility design and coordination processes
Clear, professional communication skills (written and verbal)
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
Ability to work independently and lead a small team
Experience working with agencies and utility companies is a plus
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and project tracking tools
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required if experience is strong
