About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and resourceful Business Development & Marketing Associate to help grow Tarrar Utility Consultants' presence across the dry utility and development industry. This role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, supporting marketing efforts, and helping drive strategic growth initiatives. You’ll work directly with leadership to target key markets, create outreach strategies, and support proposal development.
This is a hands-on role that blends sales, marketing, and business development—you’ll have room to contribute ideas, shape our outreach, and make a real impact as we continue to grow.
Responsibilities:
Research and identify potential clients, partners, and project opportunities
Build and maintain relationships with developers, architects, and builders
Assist in the creation and coordination of marketing materials (presentations, proposals, brochures, social media updates, etc.)
Help manage CRM data and track lead follow-up
Schedule and support client meetings, presentations, and networking events
Work with leadership to shape marketing and business development strategies
Track RFPs and support proposal submissions
Represent the company at industry events and trade shows as needed
Requirements
3+ years of experience in business development, marketing, sales, or a related field (construction or utility industry experience is a plus but not required)
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Comfortable with outbound communication (emails, calls, in-person networking)
Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks at once
Basic understanding of sales pipelines and CRM systems (preferred)
Familiarity with marketing basics (social media, design tools, etc.) is a plus
Bachelor’s degree necessary but not required if experience is strong
